Memphis Slim’s Presents: Lounge of Love
What’s happening? We’re switching things up yet again and completely transforming our bluesy basement into a psychedelic haven – all in the name of Woodstock ‘69.
Just like the original, we’re running this thing for three days. It’ll be three days of Memphis reimagined, starting with a special edition Not-Quite-Blues Jam with Dusty Lee on Thursday.
We’re teaming up with local creatives Pegasus Productions – who you might recognise from their Apocalypse Now fitout upstairs back in June – to create an immersive homage to one of the most culturally significant music events in history. (And don’t worry, we’re talking about the first iteration of Woodstock, not Woodstock ‘99, we all saw that documentary)
Dusty Lee on Thursday, Soul Centric on Friday, and Zkye Blue on Saturday – all of our unreasonably talented musos will be shifting gears and playing sets befitting the occasion.
Our good friends at Archie Rose Distilling Co. are also jumping on board to provide a three-night-only drinks list.
Think rock & roll, peace & love, psychedelic colours, henna tattoos, flowers, freedom of expression, and the celebration of counter culture.
Keep your eyes peeled for all our updates and additions.
This isn’t your average weekend at Memphis, and we’re gonna have fun with this one.
