Prateek Kuhad, who was hailed by Rolling Stone India as “one of the country’s leading singer-songwriters,” has recently taken the rest of the world by storm, winning numerous awards and honours for his captivating, cinematic composition. While Kuhad has long been well-known in his home country (he quickly rose to the top of Spotify India’s most-streamed artists list when the service launched, and his most recent EP, “cold/mess,” debuted at #1), 2019 was his breakthrough year in North America, thanks to a star-making performance at SXSW and a cross-country headline tour that culminated with three sold-out shows in NYC. Even Barack Obama’s “favourite music of 2019” list featured his song cold/mess.
