88 keys gives you a lot of opportunity for musical variation – of course some of these keys don’t get used a lot but as an instrument the piano offers a very diverse platform to present a song.
This night has some of Adelaide’s active live performers playing keys without their usual musical colleagues and sharing with you what got them into playing the instrument and why they play the style they do. Backed by a bespoke band curated by the Adelaide Roots & Blues Association you have some interesting and dynamic players onstage. The opening act is a band comprising alumni from the Adelaide Roots & Blues Association – Youth in Blues program.
If you’ve ever wondered why someone continues on from those childhood piano lessons and how they make them work this show gives a chance to hear some stories plus experience a youth band who are part of the future of live music in South Australia.
