Carla Lippis & Mondo Psycho Album Launch + St Morris Sinners + Rocky’s Pride and Joy
Sat 1 Jul @ 7:30 pm

The rich and melancholic voice of Carla Lippis has evoked a cathartic reaction in audiences everywhere – from London’s West End to supporting Mötley Crüe.
One of Australia’s best-kept secrets, her sound oscillates between torch songs inspired by Angelo Badalamenti and dystopian avant-rock reminiscent of The Birthday Party. In this incredible performance, Carla channels her Italian heritage through the suspenseful dissonance of Giallo and the witchcraft of the stregheria.
Carla is backed by a formidable five-piece band featuring multi-award-winning bassist Ross McHenry, the aggressive post-punk stylings of guitarist Geoff Crowther and the electronics and keyboards of acclaimed film sound designer Duncan Campbell.
“Divine” – Rolling Stone Germany
“From the emotional delivery to the vocal technique to the musical ambition, it’s all turned up to 11 …. a wild ride.” ***** – The Scotsman
Supported by Rocky’s Pride and Joy, who weave together filthy chunks of doom with tales of revenge, foreboding omens and forces driven by blood, lust and madness. Gone are the 15-minute epics, they’ve been replaced with concise slabs of heavy-hitting grooves and lyrics so dark they satisfy Satan herself.
Special Guests The St. Morris Sinners. Together, Stephen Johnson (vocals), Django Rowe (guitar) and Angus Mason (drums) have woven punk, jazz, and avant-garde influences into their own style of dirty alternative rock. The band attract audiences to their live shows with their distinctive sound and raucous energy.
“Rollicking, rambunctious ride across a blues-infused rock that also treads a path via erratic art rock and eccentric, cinematic noodlings.” – Scenestr
