As we emerge from the Australian winter, feel the last days of the northern summer enliven your soul. Gifts from Latvian composers including Viktors Baštiks, Jāzeps Vītols, Lūcija Garūta and Ēriks Ešenvalds lead you on a journey across their country, where the sun sparkles on warm summer seas and serene frosted lakes alike.
Renowned for its rich tradition of choral music, Latvia is known as ‘the land that sings’. We present arrangements of folk music, anthems from the UNESCO-recognised Latvian Song and Dance Festival, contemporary treasures, and our major work, Viktors Baštiks’ powerful Rekviems.
