Hindmarsh Rocks 2024 – Sudden Age, My Chérie, Popular Stranger, Church Moms, Feed The Fire

Sat 30 Nov @ 6:00 pm

Mark your calendars – November 30th 2024 will see the Hindmarsh Valley Memorial Hall transforming into the hottest stage in town once again, thanks to Fairy Pig! Five bands for $25 – it doesn’t get much better than that!

Sudden Age

Sudden Age are a 3-piece punk rock band from Victor Harbor. The band formed in 2021 from a collection of hard rock lovers who met at school and who all just couldn’t get enough Nirvana, Silverchair, and Stone Temple Pilots. Their unique brand of entertainment fuses hard-hitting rock and tight three-piece precision with raw, punchy and well-dressed attire that will make you want to get loose. Now hailed as The Best Looking Band on the South Coast (by ourselves), Sudden Age has released “In The Sun” available on all streaming platforms and have performed their first show just recently at Middleton’s Front Yard Festival. If you love 90s rock, you’ll love Sudden Age.

My Chérie

Exploding onto the scene with an electrifying and unforgettable energy, My Cherie has captured audiences with her unique, award-winning live shows. A stand out performer and multi-instrumentalist, My Cherie has wild-child appeal. Be it in the pop tinged songs, featuring ambient guitar, live looping, atmospheric synth and hip-hop grooves set apart with her angelic vocals. With touches of dream pop and nods towards some of her influences like Tash Sultana, Matt Corby and the ethereal vocals of Kate Miller-Heidke and Kate Bush. Brimming with talents – from writing, producing for others and recording her own music to collaborating with producers, to being crowned the title of Best Live Act in SA after popping onto the scene only a short time before.

Popular Stranger

Popular Stranger draws inspiration from the guitar driven classic rock era of the 60’s and 70’s, along with a taste for groove and melody, the band offers the audiences a unique live experience blending high energy classic rock, with the subtleness and finesse of Motown and Soul. Hailing from Adelaide, Australia, Popular Stranger has a sound far greater than what you’d expect from a trio. With the addition of Hammond style keyboards, acoustic guitar and harmonica, audiences throughout have been left in awe of the bands performances onstage. 2022 will be the year for Popular Stranger, with the bands first music to be released, followed by a run of shows, spreading the music as far and wide as fate will take them.

Church Moms

Church Moms is a Kaurna land (Adelaide Plains) based Queercore band. They sing about heartbreak and anti-capitalism.
After working hard on their upcoming album, getting some radio spins and opening for legends YOUAMI & Magic Dirt in May 22, Church Moms are ready to get rowdy.

Feed The Fire

Feed The Fire are an Australian powerhouse rock trio who play their own brand of blues infused guitar driven rock n roll!
Home base is the small town of Goolwa on the Fleuireu Peninsula of South Australia.
Formed in 2018 the band is,
Dan Pearce – Guitar and Vocals
Joel Keen – Drums
Anton Williams – Bass and Vocals
Taking influence from 90’s rock bands such as The Living End, Soundgarden, Guns n Roses and Nirvana to name a few, and with a love for 70’s rock and modern blues. Feed The Fire create and play music with a timeless sound and feel.

No stranger to the stage, their live shows are professional and highly entertaining and go over well with just about any crowd that love guitar music with equal parts attitude and finesse
