Jane Austen’s musical relationships

Gillian Dooley has been exploring Jane Austen’s music collection
for many years, and for this concert has chosen songs and piano pieces that relate to people who were important in her life – her teacher, her sister, and some of her sisters-in-law and nieces.
Gillian is an Honorary Associate Professor, English, and Chair of the Music Advisory Committee at the Flinders University. She has recently published ‘She Played and Sang: Jane Austen and Music’.
This concert is presented as part of the long-running Tuesday on Flinders series at Flinders Street Baptist Church, Adelaide.
