Jazz, Pop & Folk: Turkish Melodies meet Shanghai Grooves

Join us for our one-night-only Adelaide Fringe in March at Nexus Arts Venue! Adelaide’s own Silk Strings Ensemble (David Dai, Felix Wang, and Lester Wong) returns after their successful 2023 Fringe performances. The original lineup is back! Featuring Turkish vocal virtuoso Dr. Ayşegül Altıok, drummer Satomi Ohnishi, pianist Yundi Yuan, and bassist Tim Matthew. This year, we explore the musical landscapes of Shanghai and Istanbul, blending Turkish folk songs, Arabesque, Chinese folk tunes, and Mandarin Shidaiqu (Songs of the Era) with jazz and pop, all while celebrating Adelaide’s rich cultural diversity and inclusive spirit.
