Murray Bridge Piano Sanctuary Launch Concert
Sat 4 Mar @ 5:00 pm
The Murray Bridge Piano Sanctuary is an ephemeral sculpture and instrument park in Murray Bridge on Ngarrindjeri Country, a place for ruined pianos to see out their final days being played by passersby and reclaimed by the environment. More information on the Sanctuary can be found here.
This launch concert features a tour of the Sanctuary by curator Jesse Budel, on which he will perform ‘Eight Vignettes’, a new work written for each of the pianos, as well as a performance by concert-pianist Gabriella Smart of Constantine Koukias’ PRIMORDIAL, a work for grand piano and electronics inspired by the Ediacara Fossils of the Ikara/Flinders Ranges National Park.
Presented by Soundstream New Music and the Rural City of Murray Bridge.
