Rock n roll had the potential to be accessible as a form of entertainment, self-expression and liberation for the marginalised:
after all it was conceived in the U.S. from the marriage of the music of poor white Southerners and African Americans.
This Songs of Tom Smith collection of songs/album explores how Rock n Roll died when it became the domain of affluent white cis males and looks at the issues from the point of view of Roadies, so-called Groupies and the Musicians themselves.
Tom is overjoyed to announce the band for these gigs is Jon Van Bowman, Matt Harris, Stuart Baulk and sharing the drumming Pange Niemoller and Sandy Cenin. Massive thanks to Pange for a suitably colour-drenched, senses assaulting poster
Songs of Tom Smith are very pleased to share the bill with 7 other acts all keen and willing to insert the final dagger into the lumbering clumsy beast of Rock n Roll.
