Victoria K: ‘Kore’ Australia Tour 2023 – Adelaide
Fri 24 Feb @ 8:00 pm
Melbourne symphonic prog metal band Victoria K are hitting the road this February in support of their latest album “Kore” which was released October 14, 2022 via Rockshots Records. The tour sees the band stop at Enigma Bar in Adelaide on February 24th 2023.
Tickets on sale now via Moshtix – support acts to be announced soon.
The latest album “Kore” explores modern-day issues through the Homeric Hymn to Demeter (the story of Persephone). Victoria K conceptualized the idea for the album with producer Lee Bradshaw and then spent many months researching and analyzing the Homeric Hymn to Demeter, even meeting with experts of the Homeric Hymns from Greece. The story was then broken up into its different parts where Victoria Knight wrote the lyrics and developed the melodies for each section of the tale, exploring the myth from a modern perspective.
Victoria K have previously supported Swiss folk metal giants Eluveitie for their 2019 tour date in Melbourne.
“There were plenty of ethereal, gothic metal symphonies; with soaring vocals hitting the operatic scales, leading the journey through the set. Songs were wide ranging, from almost sweet medieval ballads, all the way through to mind bending metal onslaughts, with double kick machine gun hammering, and guttural, cookie monster vocals dragging us down to hell.” – Bob Mezzatesta Searching The Brown Note
“The symphonic sounds layered over the top, with Victoria’s powerful voice, and bass player Charlie’s animated presence & death grunts made for quite a show! The crowbar gave them a Rapturous reception.” Metal-Roos
“She very quickly won over the crowd and with her voice and great tracks like ‘Lacuna’ and ‘Matrix’ it is very easy to see that she will soon be matching it alongside bands like Evanescence and Nightwish.” – Heavy Magazine
