A Decade of Draw Your (S)words!

Thu 24 Oct @ 6:00 pm

HELLS BELLS DRAW YOUR (S)WORDS IS TURNING 10!

Can you believe that back in Oct 2014 DY(S) was started by two people with an idea and a shared love of poetry, with the goal to create a safe space to share that love of spoken word… little did we know it would be this well received and snowball into this haven.

Whether you’ve been once, or you’ve never miss an event, we couldn’t have done it without you! Thank you for bringing your stories, culture, love and vulnerability to the mic. Once more we are inviting you all to come help us celebrate this MAMMOTH Milestone at The Queens Theatre with one heck of a line up!

We couldnt pass up the opportunity to throw one big party!!
Not only are we putting on our much loved open mic event.. We will carry on the party into the night -so what if it’s a school night. Join us to absorb some poetry from your favourite poets, and have a boogie as we cheers to hitting double figures.

Wallis, our co-founder and host, is leaving Kaurna Yarta once again, so come and say goodbye.. rumour has it they are featuring.

THE LINE UP-
Featuring music from:
My Chérie (She/Her)

Featuring poetry from:
Chloe Thompson (she/her)
Wallis Prophet (They/them)

Stay tuned to find out who else we’ve nabbed for this show AND after party!

Bring your nearest and dearests, your mates and dates, or just bring yourselves and get tangled up in a night of moving and powerful spoken word poetry to start your weekend right!

You should know the drill by now, but if you’re new here, welcome! Come along soak up the brilliance or sign up to the open mic and share your incredible stories, this is a safe and welcoming space for writers of all levels.
