Adventures in Antique Music

Wed 19 Mar @ 7:00 pm

Ever imagined what music from 500-1000 years ago sounded like?
What is a sackbut, a vielle, a rauschpfeife? We can show you! Come and hear the hits of the European Middle Ages and Renaissance from 800-1600, performed on weird and wonderful authentic old-style instruments, blended with evocative vocals. In one hour, you will experience music that formed the fabric of times gone by, and discover that although centuries have passed, we humans haven’t really changed much – we still love, laugh and cry. Presented by Lyrebyrd Consort, a group whose mission is to perform music from the past, and to explore different sonorities and combinations of musical ideas, to keep the music alive.

Tickets will be available at the door, or book through FringeTix
