Touching down at Sugar, Giegling needs little introduction. The German record label was born out of a mutual passion of music from a collective of friends and producers who originally set out to arrange parties in an abandoned building in Weimar for their friends. After their venue was demolished in 2008, the collective continued to make use of the Giegling brand they had formed and opened up their own vinyl only label focusing on the deeper realms of house and techno. Their roster includes Dwig, Prince of Denmark, Ateq, Edward, Matthias Reiling, Vril, Kettenkarussell, Rau aka Christopher Rau, Dustin and many more.
Dustin’s first encounter with electronic music occurred when he was just eleven years old in 1997. His cousin put on a techno tape on a portable radio in the backyard of his grandparents’ farm. Before his mother could intervene to stop the music in disapproval, Dustin found himself captivated by the music. Soon, Dustin began collecting CDs, and around the age of 15, he had his first encounter with club music on vinyl while visiting his brother, an established DJ running a local club near Berlin. His brother introduced him to the world of DJing and provided valuable lessons.
The music and the magic of vinyl and record players changed the course of his interests. Facing a lack of parental support for his newfound passion, Dustin took matters into his own hands. He worked on construction sites during summer holidays to earn money, eventually founding a small studio in his former hometown near Berlin with his close friends. Together, they organised parties and attended festivals like Fusion Festival and first club nights in Berlin.
Yamour has quickly been gaining a reputation for her versatility as a DJ, serving both House and Techno music with equal passion and finesse. The vinyl-only DJ has developed a rich signature sound that, in its essence, is rooted in US Techno and House. She effortlessly blends the old school with the new, which ensures her sets feel both current and timeless. Thanks to her broad record collection she can easily adapt to various musical environments. The Berlin natives’ deep-rooted love and knowledge of music led her to a four-year employment at record store Hard Wax.
In 2023, Yamour joined the newly founded Good2U Festival; her main task there is curating the musical programme alongside Paloma’s Tom. She recently started a DJ residency at Blitz Club in Munich, Germany – a club, where she immediately felt at home.
Supported by Hans from Transition Records, this is not one to be missed.
