Michael Waugh is a revered songwriter, a compelling live performer and an extraordinary storyteller. He has been the recipient of many awards including Folk and Roots album of the Year (Music Victoria Awards), Songs of Peace and Tolerance award (Pt. Fairy Folk Festival) and Heritage Song of the Year (Golden Guitar Awards). Michael’s new album ‘Beauty & Truth’ paints vivid, joyous, funny and loving pictures of growing up queer in rural Australia. In 2024 it won the prestigious Folk Alliance ‘Contemporary Folk Album of the Year’ award and received five nominations in the 2025 Golden Guitar Awards.
