Naomi Keyte & Django Rowe / Maisie B / A Blanket of Stars

Sat 28 Dec @ 7:30 pm

In the lazy lull between Christmas and New Year’s Eve Stone Pony brings its annual post-turkey-pre-sparklers party! A special three act line-up of magnificence to celebrate the almost end of another wonderful year of live music concerts in the old show hall in Willunga! Here’s the scoop on the artists..

Naomi Keyte

Naomi Keyte uses the vehicle of contemporary folk music to explore multiple ways of connecting; connection to self, connection with others, and connection to personal and collective narratives.

With Keyte’s intimate and detail-rich lyrics, sensitive yet powerful voice, and her band’s intuitive and painterly accompaniment, this collective humbly offers up a truly beautiful set. Drawing inspiration from artists like Big Thief, Maple Glider, Feist, Gillian, Naomi Keyte brings to life songs in a nuanced and singular way. There isn’t anyone who sounds quite like this.

Naomi is set to release her sophomore, Milk Paper Gold, record on October 31 2024.

Maisie B

Maisie B adores and craves connecting with others through the vulnerability of their music. An experienced performer and multi-instrumentalist, they seamlessly weave together their favourite elements of folk, jazz and alt pop to curate a sound that is texturally rich, emotionally charged and an intricate fusion of everything they love.

A Blanket Of Stars

A Blanket Of Stars is a newly formed band with the unique instrument combination of Guitar (Doug James), Cello (Heather Lander) and English Concertina (Karen Magno). These musicians bring varied musical backgrounds from Americana folk music, Classical music, Celtic music, Latin American, European and Australian Folk music. The trio performs original work composed by Karen Magno; an evocative blend of folk, classical and contemporary influences. The beautiful combination of instruments produces a warm, rich sound and the trio delivers a performance that is sometimes lyrical and uplifting, sometimes poignant and melancholy, sometimes dynamic and driven, and at other times mischievous and playful.
