The Tabor Institute of Music is excited to present Javier Nandayapa in concert with our very own Dr. Andrew Wiering.
Javier Nandayapa is a renowned Mexican marimbist, who began his career in 1989 with Marimba Nandayapa, touring internationally until 2011 and recording 16 albums. Since 1995, he has pursued a solo career, performing in 37 countries across Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas. He has collaborated with symphony orchestras and presented masterclasses worldwide. Nandayapa co-authored Didactic Method for Mexican Marimba and has received multiple grants from Mexico’s National Arts and Culture Fund. His ensemble, Javier Nandayapa Trio, has performed globally. A dedicated advocate for marimba music, he continues to showcase its rich tradition on the international stage.
